Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky split
Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence and director Darren Aronofsky have reportedly broken up after a year of dating.
The pair's relationship blossomed during the creation of Aronofsky's latest film Mother!, in which Lawrence was cast in the central role opposite Javier Bardem.
Although Lawrence and Aronofsky had been seen together last summer, the pair's relationship was only confirmed relatively recently. In the September issue of Vogue, Lawrence, 27, said, "I've been in relationships before where I am just confused. And I'm never confused with him."
Sources claim that the couple broke up over a month ago, with The Hollywood Reporter confirming the split. Both Lawrence and Aronofsky underwent a gruelling promotional schedule ahead of the release of Mother! in September, as well as during its first weeks in cinemas.
Lawrence, however, has discussed the relationship very recently. In a Hollywood Reporter podcast episode released on Monday, she explained that the couple had maintained a professional distance during the making of Mother! in 2016, and only embarked upon a relationship once filming had wrapped.
"[I] had a crush on him when he pitched to me," she told Scott Feinberg, "and that was like a year before we started rehearsing, but he was a professional, which only made it worse for me."

"So we just kind of formed a friendship. He knew how I felt, he never told me how he felt – I mean, I assumed – but we just formed a friendship, and then the friendship turned into a partnership for the movie once we started working, and then, when the movie was done, I was like, 'All right, you're my boyfriend!' And he was like, 'All right, I'm your boyfriend.'"
Aronofsky was previously with Rachel Weisz for nine years, before the actress married James Bond star Daniel Craig. Lawrence was previously in relationships with to British actor Nicholas Hoult and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
