When I find something I love, I will wear it into the ground. So as an outfit repeater, it didn’t take me long to notice that Jennifer Lawrence has some of those same tendencies. I mean, she practically lives in Adidas Sambas. But lately, it’s not one item she's been wearing over and over again but rather a combination—and it’s not nearly as low-key as those sneakers.

Since last summer, Lawrence has been wearing mesh flats, the controversial, outfit-elevating shoe that’s almost like lingerie for your feet. So when she broke them out again this spring, I was curious how she was styling them, and discovered that, more often than not, she relies on the same outfit formula, pairing her barely-there flats with flattering, wide-leg jeans. The two are the antithesis of one another—light, skin-baring shoes with heavy, oversized jeans—and I couldn’t be more in love. So, rather than just looking for mesh flats, I found myself also searching for the perfect wide-leg jeans to go with them. Below, shop shoes and jeans inspired by Lawrence’s chic, go-to summer style.

Shop Lawrence’s Go-To Summer Look:

These Voleece flats look nearly identical to Lawrence’s designer pair from The Row. They’re available in seven colors, including a beige as well as a classic black and bold red. And, according to Amazon shoppers, the shoes are “light and airy”—making them perfect for hot summer weather—“sexy,” “very comfortable,” and “well made,” despite their $55 price tag.

Get Lawrence’s full look by pairing them with these 100-percent cotton Levi’s jeans, which don’t just have an exaggerated wide-leg but an overall relaxed fit. I honestly love these for summer thanks to that roominess since I generally try to avoid skin-tight clothes when already sweating. But despite that oversized fit through the legs, these still sit high on the waist, cinching in before expanding out.

These mesh Mary Janes from Sam Edelman are my personal favorites. For starters, I almost always prefer my flats to have a strap, but I also love how the solid black leather details at the strap and across the toe contrast the mesh. Shoppers also love the look, writing that the shoes make anything you wear them with look instantly “more stylish.” Plus, many note they’re supportive and durable, with one person even writing that they were “comfortable from the second [they] put them on,” no break-in time required.

Mesh flats and wide-leg jeans are the duo Lawrence keeps reaching for, and I don’t blame her; it always looks chic. Shop more shoes and denim inspired by the star’s go-to style, below.
