There’s not an aspect of fall fashion I dislike. I live for cozy knits, oversized shackets, and how a pair of knee-high boots can somehow make a mini skirt feel autumn-appropriate. Unfortunately, it’s a love that has led me to spend a little too much on pieces with a short shelf life. So this season, rather than grabbing a number of accessories and dresses I’ll have to pack up once temperatures drop, I’m looking for items I can wear beyond just fall. And Jennifer Lawrence just reminded me of the shoe that looks and feels good year-round.

I could write an ode to the actress’ style, which melds cool-girl elements with timeless wardrobe basics, but what I might love the most is that she isn’t afraid to repeat a look, with a supermodel-loved sneaker making the cut over and over again.

The star practically lived in Adidas’ Sambas OGs this summer. Whether in casual jeans and a simple black tank or a trench and trendy cargos, Lawrence finished her look with the skater-inspired sneakers. And this week, she reminded me just how versatile the shoes are when she paired them with a vibrant red hoodie, long black coat, and a matching beanie.

Lawrence, of course, isn’t the first to wear Sambas — they’ve kind of been the ‘It’ sneaker for well over a year, so much so that they’re rarely in stock — with stars from every generation wearing the shoes, including Olivia Rodrigo, Bella Hadid, and Katie Holmes. The simple sneakers, which boast thousands of five-star ratings between Nordstrom and Adidas, pair perfectly with casual sweats while looking just as good with a dramatic jacket and silky pants à la Mary-Kate Olsen.

“These look great with anything you throw on,” wrote one fan who described the shoes as “comfortable and sleek.” Another person said that the shoes are “easy to wear with lots of different looks” while one customer explained that they’ve worn the “must have” shoes with everything including “suits, dresses, and jeans.”

But beyond looking good, they’re also incredibly practical (I mean, isn’t that why we gravitate towards sneakers over heels?). According to a number of shoppers, these shoes are “the most comfortable.” One person who walked “over 10 miles” on a recent trip reported that their feet “did not hurt” thanks to the sneakers, while a previous mail carrier wrote that they “helped [them] through walking 60 miles a week,” adding that they also held up well. “I bought them…on a trip where I walked all day for two weeks straight…four years later and they’re still going strong,” added another shopper.

Adidas Sambas are the year-round shoes Jennifer Lawrence convinced me I need this fall (and winter, spring, and summer). Shop more Samba styles below.
