Jerry O'Connell Jumps Into Action to Assist Burning Food Truck
Jerry O'Connell is being reigned a hero!
The 49-year-old actor jumped into action over the weekend after spotting a truck fire while driving in Malibu, California, with his twin daughters.
Law enforcement told TMZ that the sheriff's office was already on the scene moving nearby propane tanks and beginning to attend to the blaze when the actor hopped out of his car and began moving a gas can that was located near the truck.
Photos published by the outlet show the Stand By Me star pulling a gas tank out of the way of flames as the fire grew to encompass the surrounding area.
Officials on the scene also told the outlet that O'Connell scaled a fence to grab a fire extinguisher, attempting to battle the flames until Los Angeles fire department crews arrived and took over.
According to sources that spoke with the publication, unfortunately the food truck was unable to be saved. But thanks to the help of O'Connell and the firefighting crews, the fire didn't spread any further.
This isn't the first time O'Connell has taken things into his own hands, as TMZ first reported, he previously battled a blaze–along with the help of San Bernardino firefighters–at his home in the California mountains in 2003. After several days of battling flames, O'Connell and the local fire department were eventually able to save the actor's house.
