Jessa Duggar Welcomes Baby No. 5 With Husband Ben Seewald
The Duggar family visits 'Extra' at their New York studios at H&M in Times Square on March 11, 2014, in New York City.
The Duggar family has grown yet again, as Jessa Duggar welcomed baby No. 5 with her husband, Ben Seewald — and it's a boy!
On Saturday, Dec. 23, the former Counting On star took to Instagram with a short birth announcement inviting followers to learn more details on her YouTube channel.
"Baby is here and we couldn’t be more grateful!" she captioned a photo of herself holding the newborn from a hospital bed. "Full birth story is now up on our YT channel!"
In the 10-minute birth story, Jessa detailed how she labored at home for 12 hours, before heading to the hospital. She opted for an epidural and things seemed to be progressing nicely until the doctor determined Jessa's baby wasn't in the ideal position for delivery. With help from her midwife and trying out different laboring positions for several hours, the baby successfully was able descend—and Jessa ended up delivering before the doctor made it to the room.
"It was the sweetest moment when they raised the baby up and put him on me and just holding him there," the new mom-of-five said in her YouTube birth story. "I think there were just so many emotions in that moment, so many things you're processing."
She continued: "It's been a year since we lost our last baby, and just a flood of emotions. It's such a special moment to welcome our little baby into this world."
As of writing, Jessa has not shared what she and Ben decided to name their baby boy. However, they did note that baby Seewald weighed in at 9 pounds, 14 ounces.
Hopefully, the former TLC stars will soon update fans on their little one's name. We can't wait to see more photos of Ben and Jessa's baby boy!
