Who is Jessica Mulroney, the stylist whose family will have a major role at the royal wedding?
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have finally made the decision everyone has been waiting for: They’ve announced their bridesmaids and pageboys for their nuptials on Saturday.
On Wednesday, Kensington Palace announced that the couple will have six bridesmaids and four pageboys, ranging in age from 2 to 7, including a mixture of the bride and groom’s nieces and nephews (come through, Prince George and Princess Charlotte!), godchildren, and children of family friends.
Three of the 10 bridesmaids and pageboys have a special Canadian connection — they’re the children of (basically) Canadian royalty.
Four-year-old Ivy Mulroney will act as a bridesmaid, while her twin brothers, Brian and John, 7, will be pageboys.
They’re the children of Ben and Jessica Mulroney, close friends of the couple who are reportedly quite integral to their love story.
Earlier this year, rumors swirled that Jessica Mulroney would act as Markle’s maid of honor, but Kensington Palace recently announced that the bride chose not to have one.
However, having her children in the wedding is still an honor for the Toronto-based Mulroney. She and Markle became friends during the latter’s time on Suits and have been inseparable ever since. Mulroney was even reportedly spotted wedding dress shopping with the bride in London.
Here are five things you should know about her.

She’s part of a Canadian power couple.
The stylist and mom of three has been married to Ben Mulroney, former Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney’s son, since 2008. Ben currently hosts Your Morning and eTalk, and was the long-standing host of Canadian Idol. Jessica also has some television experience, as she regularly hosts fashion segments for Cityline.
She’s been Markle’s friend for years.
It’s believed that the pair met when Markle relocated from Los Angeles to Toronto for her role on the legal drama Suits. The pair quickly hit it off, jetting off for tropical vacations and practicing yoga together.
She also works with Sophie Gregoire Trudeau — and shines a spotlight on Canadian designers.
Mulroney has an impressive list of clients, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife, Sophie, a longtime friend whom she’s styled since 2015. Mulroney uses her platform to spotlight national talent, heavily featuring Canadian brands like Mackage, Lucian Matis, Zvelle, and Kate Middleton favorite Sentaler.
She’s already helped Markle pick a wedding dress.
Mulroney is no stranger to wedding style. She’s a consultant for famed bridal boutique Kleinfeld and provides public relations for the store’s Canadian location. Along with her Instagram page dedicated strictly to bridal styling, Mulroney is already an expert when it comes to Markle’s bridal style. She chose the gown that Markle’s character, Rachel Zane, wore to get married in Suits.
She’s also friends with Prince Harry.
Mulroney quickly formed a close relationship with her best friend’s fiancé. According to sources, the royal and his fiancée often had dinners at Mulroney’s Toronto home to avoid being spotted in public. As a result, Prince Harry has become close with Mulroney and her family. In September 2017, Mulroney was photographed at the Invictus Games closing ceremony alongside Markle and Prince Harry.
