Jessica Simpson posts a makeup-free selfie but gets slammed for rumored lip injections

’Tis the season to ditch the makeup, it seems.

Hot on the heels of Cardi B and Christina Aguilera’s barefaced looks, Jessica Simpson has posted her own stripped-back, I-just-woke-up-like-this selfie.

The 37-year-old appears to be wearing a hoodie in bed in the casual photo, which is a sharp contrast to her glam swimsuit spree during her recent getaway to the Bahamas. Hey, even celebrities need a vacation to recover from their vacation.

While most fans praised the former pop star’s natural beauty, the makeup-free selfie was also, rather predictably, met with some unsolicited comments about how Simpson needs to beef up her eyelashes and avoid cosmetic procedures. Many accused the mom of two — who in 2006 admitted that she regretted having Restylane shots — of getting more lip injections and said it marred her looks. So helpful!

A sample comment: “You are naturally beautiful and so much better without the Kardashian look. But stop with the lip injections.”

A few fans expressed a desire to see more barefaced photos of celebrities, in hopes of focusing on natural beauty rather than the flawless, impossibly glamorous image Hollywood projects. But if that’s going to happen, people need to stop weighing in with their demeaning critiques over every last pore and pimple.

We’re all human. We all have “flaws.” Deal with it.
