Jessie James Decker Shares Intimate Glimpse Into Her Postpartum State-Of-Mind — & Stunning Bikini Photos

Being an experienced mom makes a lot of things easier. You can change diapers with your eyes closed and feed a baby while pouring cereal, for example. But there’s one thing you will never be prepared for, no matter how many times you go through it: your postpartum body. Embracing my body’s changes was one of the hardest things for me to do during the pregnancy and postpartum periods of all three of my kids. And unlike breastfeeding, it did not get better with each child. It’s been 3 months since Jessie James Decker welcomed her fourth child, and she is struggling with some very relatable postpartum self-confidence issues.

The “Lose Control” singer posted two stunning bikini photos of herself in the pool on Instagram. Her hair is wet and slicked back, and she’s wearing an orange bikini that shows off her toned stomach. In the second photo, she looks down while adjusting her top, and it’s the definition of sexy.

Despite Decker absolutely glowing in the swimming pool, she admitted in her caption that she’s had a hard time posting these photos “because i weigh 30 pounds more right now than I did last year.” She added, “Yes I know I just had a baby three months ago but it’s easy to compare on here and wonder why my body likes to hold on to it more than others. The pressure we put on our self is not realistic.”

I have been there, and I admire her vulnerability! She is actively trying to work through her own self-esteem, and I love how she is normalizing this inner struggle that so many moms feel. And at the same time, she’s encouraging others feeling this way.

“Be kind to yourself. give yourself grace,” she went on. “We are healing after growing a human being for nine months. And if you’re breast-feeding like me and your body needs to hold on to as much weight as possible to keep making milk, then let it.”

She added, “Focus on that sweet new baby because that’s what it’s all about. Plenty of time to ‘get back’ when it’s time. But for now. Give yourself grace… you’re doing great and you got this girl! We are in this together Xoxo”

Many people praised Decker’s post. “Thank you for being real! As someone who struggles with loving herself, I needed this!”

“I absolutely love how real and uplifting you are,” someone else wrote. Another commented, “Thank you for posting and being real. All of us women out here need to know that this is how it really is and that we are still stunning, just like you are, 30 or more pounds heavier. ??????”

“…when all along, we see THIS as being the most beautiful version of you! ??,” someone else wrote.

Decker shares kids Vivianne, 10, Eric, 8, Forrest, 6, and Denver, who was born in February. In March, the “If You’re Up” singer told SheKnows that Denver was “the hardest adjustment.”

“Three to four, I feel like is an adjustment just because there’s been such a long period time in between,” she told us. “The older kids have so many activities and things going on that I’m heavily involved with and now have to take a backseat. School projects, to and from sports events, just a lot of different things.”

And, of course, the no sleep is hard as well. “The most challenging part is the no sleep. I totally forgot about that part,” Decker admitted. “I breastfeed, so we’re up together all night. [But] those are some of my favorite infant memories with the other three, those quiet nights together breastfeeding just staring at your baby’s face.”

Even during the hardest times, Decker tries to find a silver lining, and it’s such an inspiration!
