Season 11 of Big Bang Theory just ended, but Jim Parsons isn't letting a broken foot interrupt his jam-packed summer. The CBS sitcom star will officially go on with his Broadway show, he revealed on Live With Kelly and Ryan yesterday.

"I'm broken!" he exclaimed to the audience as he hobbled onto the set in boot. "It's really fun!"

The star of newly revived The Boys in the Band revealed he recently broke his fifth metatarsal - the long bone on the outside of the foot - and tore a ligament in his ankle during a performance two weeks ago.

"I was stepping down off a step for curtain call of our show on a Saturday matinee and I was suddenly on the ground," he told co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest. "I wasn't in pain, but my body was like, 'Uh oh' and it wouldn't let me step on it. I was hopping."

Parsons revealed he has four to six weeks left of recovery, but his newly off-kilter stride is causing other problems too. "You're trying to compensate for different things," he added. "I smashed my finger in a sliding door this morning because I'm holding onto things."

Although his initial injury led to one cancellation and a subsequent show featuring his understudy, Parsons was determined to resume the role ASAP. “People have done it and I’m gonna goddamn well find my way around this one way or the other,” he recently told TIME. “It’s just another interesting hurdle, and hopefully the audience feels this way too - that it’s part of the joy of live theater that you can’t get anywhere else.”

A special doctor-approved shoe enabled his return, although the growing list of injuries probably doesn't help.

When The Boys in the Band originally premiered 50 years ago, critics praised the groundbreaking play for "its unflinchingly honest depiction of gay life." Besides Parsons, the revival features other openly gay actors including Matt Bomer of White Collar, Andrew Rannells of Girls, and Zachary Quinto of the Star Trek films.

As for his next project, Parsons didn't rule out a 13th season of Big Bang Theory. He informed Ripa and Seacrest that a return to the role of Sheldon Cooper remains "possible."

"We haven't had a come-to-Jesus conversation with the whole group, which is obviously what it would take," he stated. "The bottom line is that everyone's contract ends after season 12, which is what we're going into."

Fingers crossed they'll get the gang back together one more time!
