Jimmy Kimmel gives simple response to whether he'll ask Ryan Seacrest about misconduct allegations
Jimmy Kimmel has no plans to wade into the Seacrest allegations.
While speaking to Variety, a reporter asked Kimmel if he would discuss with Ryan Seacrest the recent reports about his alleged sexual misconduct, Kimmel had a simple response.
"He's interviewing me," Kimmel said.
Kimmel said "of course" he still plans to go through with the planned interview, adding, “Listen, you know, we should at the very least afford people the opportunity for truth, what the facts of the story are before hanging them out to dry."
Seacrest is slated to host E!'s live red carpet coverage at the Academy Awards, as he has done annually for years.
Last week, Variety published a bombshell report in which a former E! staffer Suzie Hardy accused Seacrest of repeated sexual misbehaviors, including grilling her about her sex life and rubbing his erection against her while he was in his underwear.
Seacrest has steadfastly denied the allegations, and E! has emphasized that the network conducted an investigation into the claims and found them invalid. Seacrest's attorneys have said that Hardy was looking for a payout.
However Hardy, Seacrest's stylist from 2006 to 2013, has maintained that contrary to those claims, she has never asked for money. Seacrest's team has not provided any evidence of her alleged monetary requests, Variety reports.
