The Jonas Brothers are currently gearing up for the release of their new album, Happiness Begins, and its accompanying documentary. They've also been hitting the promo road very hard: they recently appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden, and are due to perform at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards on May 1. The trio also sat down for an interview with Billboard, and they revealed that in order to get through a group therapy session, they all needed some liquid courage.

The Jonas Brothers disbanded in 2013, and Joe said that their communication was at an all-time low back then. "We all wanted to create something on our own and were just trying to force it into what was going on. We were going through the motions, without the heart of it. The way we communicated to each other wasn’t healthy anymore."

So before they started to record their new album, the brothers decided that they needed to talk things out. As Billboard succinctly puts it, the trio decided to try a "combination therapy session and drinking game."

They each wrote down five questions they wanted to ask each other on paper, and then they took turns picking a question to answer out of a bowl. After answering, the other two brothers would rate the honesty of the response on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst), and that score would dictate how many seconds the other brother had to drink for.

Joe and Nick were pretty honest, but Nick said that fellow brother Kevin "...had a few skirt-arounds, so he had a few longer sips than Joe and I."

And while we don't think this method will catch on in your therapist's office or at your next family reunion, it may make for a good drinking game the next time you want to ask your buddies some burning questions: Can I borrow some money? Do you think I'm a bad friend? What's it like to get circumcised as an adult?
