Every makeover on Fixer Upper seems to get better and better, but Joanna Gaines just revealed that a recent episode holds a special place in her heart. "The details and style of this week's Fixer Upper house may be one of my all time favorites!" Joanna revealed on Instagram. The transformation, which was in episode five of season five, was for the Aguilar family, who recently moved to Waco, Texas, from Puerto Rico.

The family of four needed enough space for their two kids and wanted a modern Mediterranean vibe, dubbed "Moditerranean" by the Gaines. That's why Joanna used natural elements in her decor, including stone and wood, then supplemented this with stucco, jute, quartz, and fresh greenery details. The outside alone looks like a totally different house.

"I think of the entryway of a home sort of like a first impression," Joanna said on her blog. That's why she she used a mixture of materials in this space to set the tone for the rest of the house.

To open up the space, Joanna enlisted the help of Chip Gaines to extend the main room, creating a combo dining and living room. They also added arched windows and vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. "By incorporating these two elements into a clean, open space, the whole room instantly feels like a major transformation," Joanna wrote.

Countertop-to-ceiling quartzite backsplash adds interesting texture to the kitchen, while warm wood prevents the room from feeling cold and sterile.

However, it's the bedroom that features the details Joanna is most proud of. It was Chip's idea to convert the garage into a master suite, but it was Joanna's design that took it to the next level. "The first thing your eye is drawn to in the master bedroom is the stonework on the focal wall. I love the variation of colors in the stone and how it balances out the modern, black french doors and light fixtures," Joanna wrote. To balance the stone, she opted for soft accessories, like linen bedding ($35 and more, westelm.com) and a jute rug ($140, overstock.com).

We can see why this home is one of Joanna's favorites, but we're going to wait until the rest of the final season airs before picking our own winner from the series.
