Joanna Lumley and Michael Caine star in new British Airways pre-flight safety video
British Airways has released a new star-studded pre-flight safety video. The six-minute director's cut features six celebrities "auditioning" under the critical direction of comedian Asim Chaudhry - best known for his role as Chabuddy G in BBC's sitcom People Just Do Nothing.
The video - an adaptation of the shorter version that will be showed in-flight - features famous Britons including Sir Michael Caine, Olivia Colman and Joanna Lumley, as well as model Jourdan Dunn, Bond star Naomie Harris and comedian David Walliams.
It is a follow-up to a similar video released last year, featuring Chiwetel Ejiofor, star of 12 Years a Slave, Sir Ian McKellen and Thandie Newton.
Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience, said: “It’s great to be launching another star-studded in-flight safety video. The first video was a huge success, making customers laugh all around the world, while also helping them to take in those all-important safety messages pre-flight.

“Our first video was seen by customers nearly 25 million times so it’s a great way to promote Flying Start, our global charity partnership with Comic Relief. Thanks to our generous customers and colleagues we’ve raised over £19 million for Comic Relief over the past eight years and we hope this video will help us to grow our total even further, as we support great causes at home and around the world.”
The video will roll out across short-haul flights during July, then across long-haul services from August 1.
