Joe Jonas Addresses Reason Behind Sophie Turner Divorce at LA Concert
Joe Jonas is asking "what a man gotta do" to get fans to stop swirling rumors and conspiracy theories concerning the reason for his and Sophie Turner's pending divorce.
As the 34-year-old singer entertained a crowd alongside his two brothers–Kevin Jonas and Nick Jonas–at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, he briefly paused the band's performance to address the former couple's relationship.
In between songs, Jonas admitted, "It's been a tough week," an apparent reference to the fallout since the news of the couple's divorce became public.
"I just wanna say, look – if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. OK?"
Jonas continued, thanking the crowd, "Thank you, everyone, for your love and support. Me and my family love you guys."
The band then reportedly performed "Hesitate," the song from their 2019 album Happiness Begins, which Jonas previously dedicated to Turner, going as far as calling it a "love letter" to the Game of Thrones actress and his soon-to-be ex-wife.
As Parade previously reported, last week, the middle Jonas brother and father of two young daughters filed for divorce after four years of marriage, giving the reason that "The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken," per the court documents.
Following the news of their breakup, the fan-favorite couple took to social media to release a joint statement. In it, they explain that their reason for divorcing was mutual.
"After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage," the statement read. "There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."
