Joe Manganiello Officially Files for Divorce From Sofia Vergara
Just days after announcing their separation, Joe Manganiello formally filed for divorce from Sofia Vergara.
Irreconcilable differences were cited in the court documents obtained by TMZ, filed yesterday, July 19 by the True Blood actor's lawyer.
The two had a prenuptial agreement in place, with each keeping their own assets obtained throughout their seven-year marriage and paying for their own legal counsel throughout the proceedings.
The separation was made public on July 17—though the documents list it as July 2—with the former couple issuing a joint statement: “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
The news came the same day that Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez announced their separation after two years of marriage and just a week after Vergara's 51st birthday, where some fans began to suspect trouble in paradise after Manganiellos' birthday post, which simply read, "???Feliz Cumplea?os Sofía!!!" came off as a little "cold" to his followers.
"Am I the only one who doesn’t like the way it sounds? 'Sofia'.... not even 'My love, My beloved wife'.... ???♀?," one wondered.
But Vergara has found plenty of support, especially in her Modern Family fam. Underneath a recent swimsuit snapshot, in which the actress celebrated her "last days of vacay," co-star Julie Bowen hyped her up by commenting, "This is what single and ?? looks like!!! ??????????."
