Joe Manganiello's New Gig Could Be Weird for Howie Mandel
Sofía Vergara's ex Joe Manganiello has been named host of NBC's upcoming game show Deal or No Deal Island. In this iteration of the classic program, 13 participants will move to Banker's island, where they will face off in a series of challenges in the hopes of winning a cash prize.

"The role of ‘Deal or No Deal’ host has always been held by someone charming, hilarious and devastatingly handsome," Corie Henson, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Content, NBCUniversal Entertainment, said.
"When we took the show out of the studio and transported the game to the Banker’s island, Joe was the obvious choice. He loves all kinds of games, lives for adventure and isn’t afraid to stare down a snake or two to help players win a life-changing payday and, hopefully, beat the Banker at his own game."
Manganiello's casting arguably puts Howie Mandel, who hosted Deal or No Deal from 2005 to 2009, in an interesting (and potentially awkward) spot, as he currently works alongside Vergara as a judge on America's Got Talent. Mandel is also an executive producer on the new NBC spinoff.
Vergara and Manganiello announced their decision to divorce in August. "We have made the difficult decision to divorce," they said in a statement. "As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives."
