John Cena Just Gave Fans a Sneak Peek at His 'Fast & Furious 9' Character
A bunch of character posters just dropped for the ninth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise (which is now entitled F9: The Fast Saga because every single one of these movies follows its own naming conventions). One in particular gives us our first look at a new addition to the series: John Cena.
The wrestler-turned-movie star, who signed onto the franchise last year, revealed his character on Twitter, although it's unclear whether the as-yet unnamed role will be one of the core cast, or a new antagonist.

Cena's involvement in the Fast & Furious movies further cements his transition from WWE to Hollywood. While Cena has stated on numerous occasions that he will "never walk away" from the wrestling organization, he also frequently jokes that his body can't take the punishment any more — and says that starring in movies fulfills his passion in a similar way that his wrestling narratives did. "I just like telling stories," he said last year.
Other Fast 9 character posters include series mainstays Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michalle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, Ludacris as Tej Parker, and Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, as well as Cena's fellow newcomer, Nathalie Emmanuel. Emmanuel is best known for playing Missandei in Game of Thrones; in F9, she plays British hacker Ramsey, a new member of Toretto's crew.
Actors without their own posters include Charlize Theron, who is reprising her role as Cipher, Dame Helen Mirren as Magdalene Shaw, and rapper Cardi B, who revealed in October 2019 that she has an undisclosed part in the movie.
