John Corbett Wore the Viral SATC Aidan Jacket on a Date With His Wife Bo Derek
I couldn't help but wonder: Did he steal the coat from set?
It's the jacket that launched 1,000 memes: Aidan Shaw's "Trailmaster" jacket from the second season of And Just Like That... just made an appearance IRL.
Earlier this week, John Corbett resurrected the viral outerwear for a date night with his wife, Bo Derek, at the premiere of Apple TV+'s Masters of the Air. On Wednesday, the actor re-wore the black Belstaff jacket (which features a belt, pockets, gold hardware, and a plaid lining) over a charcoal-colored tartan button-up and coordinating black trousers.
Derek wore a white blouse styled with a black velvet blazer and matching trousers, silver pointed-toe boots, and matching jewelry (silver hoop earrings and a long pendant necklace).
Upon first glance, it's unclear if Corbett took the costume from set or if he has his own. People spoke to the renowned AJLT costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago about the famous piece (which retails for $595), and the two explained that it actually belonged to Corbett before filming. "[John Corbett] previously owned a Belstaff, and he suggested it as his only jacket for the show," Rogers told the outlet. "He felt like it was a classic silhouette and had a cool vibe but wasn’t trendy, as he did not want to be in traditional outerwear."

"He’s the most 'stealth wealth' in the show," she added. "[He'll wear] a cashmere sweater, but it’s not flashy in any way. There are no visible labels."
In case you forget the jacket's origin story, let me set the scene. Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan Shaw decide to give their romance another go during the highly-anticipated second season of the reboot. Aidan arrives at one of their outings in a buttoned high-neck coat. The internet erupts into chaos over the polarizing jacket. According to People, after the topper made its TV debut, podcast host and influencer Amanda Hirsch (better known as Not Skinny But Not Fat) pointed out that the actor appeared to have worn the same piece on a 2016 red carpet.
I think it's safe to say Corbett got his money's worth.
