Johnson City Radio Controllers to host Spring Fun Fly event on April 27

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Johnson City Radio Controllers will host its annual Spring Fun Fly at the Tri-Cities Model Airport on April 27.

April Fun Fly will allow the community to become more familiar with RC flying, according to a release.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The radio-controlled aircraft will fly around Odom-Fennell Field in three events and prizes will be given. The events are below, provided by the release:

  • Fast and slow

  • Limbo

  • Maneuvering tricks

According to the release, the Spring Fun Fly will offer food and drinks for a $5 donation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Tri-Cities Model Airport is located at 120 Lancaster Road in Kingsport. Spectators are welcome.
