Here’s when the Jollibee in Alameda will open

ALAMEDA, Calif. (KRON) — Rejoice Chickenjoy lovers, Jollibee is bringing its signature fried chicken to a new Alameda location. The opening of the restaurant was first reported by KRON4 back in July 2023.

The Jollibee in Alameda is set to open on Friday, Oct. 11, a company spokesperson told KRON4. The restaurant will be part of the Alameda Landing shopping center and is located at 2670 Fifth St.

It is right next to Berkeley-founded RareTea. The Jollibee joins a list of other popular food chains in the area. Nearby restaurants include In-N-Out, Chipotle and Panda Express.

Currently, signs are posted on the restaurant’s windows that read “training ongoing.”

Earlier this year, USA Today released its 2024 list of the top 10 fast food restaurants in the U.S. that serve fried chicken. Jollibee was ranked first in the ranking.

Jollibee opened its first U.S. restaurant in Daly City in 1998. The fast food chain was founded in 1978 in the Philippines and has since opened more than 1,400 locations worldwide.
