Jon Bon Jovi Defends Son's Engagement to Millie Bobby Brown
Jon Bon Jovi is giving his honest opinion of his son Jake Bongiovi's recent engagement to mega star actress Millie Bobby Brown—and his stance on the matter may not be what one would expect.
Despite his son only being 20 years old and Brown only 19, Bon Jovi doesn't see anything problematic about the pair's decision to promise each other forever.
After the love birds announced their engagement via social media last month, critics and skeptics quickly drew attention to their ages, questioning whether it's a wise decision to get married so young.
But the "Livin' on a Prayer" singer insisted, "I don't know if age matters," after he was asked about the situation during SiriusXM's Radio Andy show on Tuesday, May 2.
"If you find the right partner and you grow together, I think that would be my advice, really, is growing together is wise," the rockstar countered.
And Bongiovi isn't the only one in the family to get down on one knee recently, his dad noted that three out of his four kids are currently engaged. "I think that all of my kids have found the people that they think they can grow together with and we like ’em all."
Bon Jovi—who married his high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley—is also a dad to daughter Stephanie, 29, Jessie, 28 and Romeo, 19.
Bongiovi and Brown shared the news of their engagement in April, with the Stranger Things star sharing a photo of the sweet moment to Instagram, giving her fans a look at the new bling on her left hand.
She captioned the post with a lyric from Taylor Swift's song "Lover," writing, "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all ??."
