JOPLIN, Mo. — What do you call a competition that asks participants various questions? A trivia night — and what happened at the Joplin Library Saturday evening.

The Friends of the Joplin Public Library hosted the second annual trivia night at? You guessed it, the Joplin Public Library.

Tonight’s theme was “Lit-erary” with questions about or related to books.

Nine teams of eight people each went head to head for eight rounds to see who knew the most.

The first-place team received a gift certificate, trophy, and bragging rights.

“I’m really excited because I didn’t get to be here last year and people told me for a long time afterward how much fun they had, so that’s kind of the key, getting people out to have fun,” said Kathy Lazenby, Friends of the Joplin Public Library President.

Money raised from trivia night goes to the Friends of the Joplin Public Library for sponsoring library events and needs.
