Julia Louis-Dreyfus Shares Never-Before-Seen ‘Veep’ Bloopers with Tony Hale
The on-screen chemistry between Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Selina Meyer) and Tony Hale (Gary Walsh) on Veep might be spot-on, but that doesn’t mean they keep it together all the time.
The 58-year-old actress appeared on yesterday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she debuted an exclusive video featuring the two actors struggling to get through a scene.
In the clip, Louis-Dreyfus discusses everything from her Emmy win to the seventh (and final) season of Veep. When Fallon brings up Hale, the actress goes on to explain that he’s “impossible to work with because he’s so funny.”
This prompts her to introduce a never-before-seen blooper that sums up the pair’s relationship. The scene takes place shortly after Gary’s heart attack, when Selina invited him to live with her in “this tiny little room in a tiny little single bed.” When Selina goes completely out of character and makes him food, the pair struggles to get through the scene without laughing.
“We could not get through it because I was so close to him, and the food was rancid that I gave him,” Louis-Dreyfus says before playing the clip.
We can only imagine what this season’s blooper reel will look like.
