Julia Roberts
Julia Roberts is gearing up for the release of her latest project—and what better way to anticipate a new movie than with a smiling co-star selfie.
Roberts, 55, posed for a rare social media selfie this week to remind fans to check out her upcoming new film, Leave the World Behind.
The psychological thriller stars the Pretty Woman actress, alongside fellow A-lister actors Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali and Kevin Bacon.
Ahead of the film's upcoming theatrical release, Roberts shared an Instagram selfie posing with her on-screen family, featuring movie husband Hawke, 53, and the two actors who play their children, Charlie Evans and Farrah Mackenzie.
"The Sanford Family," Roberts captioned her post, while teasing, "We just wanted a nice getaway…"
The apocalyptic new film follows Roberts and Hawke's characters Amanda and Clay as they take their children on what was supposed to be a fun weekend in Long Island, before things go horribly wrong.
According to a synopsis from Netflix, the family's vacation becomes "upended when two strangers (Ali and Myha'la Herrold) arrive at night, seeking refuge from a cyberattack that grows more terrifying by the minute, forcing everyone to come to terms with their places in a collapsing world."
Based on the best-selling novel by Rumaan Alam, Leave the World Behind is directed by Sam Esmail, and even has former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama listed as executive producers via their company Higher Ground Productions.
Alam also serves as an executive producer, while Roberts and Esmail are listed as producers on the film as well.
Leave the World Behind hits selects theaters on Nov. 22, and will begin streaming on Netflix Dec. 8.
