Kacey Musgraves Dressed Like a Princess in a Pink Giambattista Valli Tulle Gown at the 2019 Oscars
Kacey Musgraves, Oscars presenter and 2019's Album of the Year Grammy winner, was one of many other stars on the Academy Awards carpet who showed up in a girly pink gown. But Musgraves's dress was pure fairy-tale. The country singer chose a Giambattista Valli gown made of pink tulle and cinched with a silver bow at the waist. It has ruffly sleeves and a tiered skirt:
When she talked to E! on the red carpet, Musgraves gushed about her love of the design house's work. "I’ve been fan of their works of art forever and so it’s an honor to be able to get to wear this dress," she said. She did admit though that she needed extra room for walking in it. "It’s like make way for the dress. I need about 10 feet!"
Musgraves hinted during her interview that she'd be presenting a "very special" performance at the Oscars. Her job during the show, compared to the Grammys when she had to give an acceptance speech, will be "easy, piece of cake," she told Ryan Seacrest. "If I can read, I’ll do my job. Hopefully that will go well."
Musgraves's tulle dress at the Oscars comes after she wore a nude tulle dress from Valentino Haute Couture at the Grammys two weeks ago. “I love this dress-it immediately struck me because it reminded me of the fan that was on my album cover,” she told People on the red carpet of that show. That album, Golden Hour, would of course go on to win one of the Grammys' top honors, Album of the Year, later that night.
