Kaia Gerber's Valentino Hair Had Everyone Talking
There's big hair, then there's the hair at Valentino's latest couture show. Seven models- including Kaia Gerber-walked the Parisian runway wearing sky-high and ultra-thick hair crafted and shaped by the legendary hairstylist Guido Palau and colorist Josh Wood for Redken. Needless to say the entire state of Texas is shook.

Gerber took to Instagram Stories to thank Palau, writing "this hair moment was everything and more." We agree. The dramatic hair was also a hit on social media, where runway hair trends don't always make a splash unless they're controversial.

Wood shared BTS clips of the work that went into creating the giant hair looks. It took 50 wigs, a flight from New York to Paris, 250 color processes, 150 hours of prep, and 11 team members to craft the extensions on the seven models (the others wore low ponytails or adorned caps). It appears like Palau clipped all the custom-dyed extensions in, then brushed the models' real hair up and back on top (with tons of hairspray), creating a wildly gigantic shape.

Massive hair is having a comeback on the fall 2018-2019 couture runways. We saw a voluminous faux bob at Giambattista Valli, as well as a teased pompadour at Ralph & Russo. At the Fendi couture show, hairstylist Sam McKnight whipped up retro updos. And at the Chanel show, he upgraded otherwise sleek ponytails with a Rockabilly twist pinned right on top of the head. Basically, if you're going to buy one hair styler this fall-make it hairspray.
