Kaia Gerber Has Pink Hair Now — and She Did It Herself
Super stylist Guido Palau showed her how to DIY the look.
While some celebs managed to get a professional dye job when salons were reopened a few weeks ago, some states' rollbacks mean that at-home experimentation is still alive and well. Today, Kaia Gerber showed off brand-new pink hair, which she managed to do with a little help from fashion-world favorite Guido Palau. She showed off the new look on Instagram, giving everyone a close-up of the ombré dye, which goes from a cool medium brown at her roots to a vibrant pastel pink near the ends.
"Pink is punk," Gerber wrote before directing her followers to an IGTV clip, "Watch my igtv to see @guidopalau remotely creative direct my dreams of going pink."
"I went pink!" Gerber captioned the short video, noting that she edited down the hourlong process to just over seven minutes. "Thank you @guidopalau for entertaining my hair adventures in quarantine, I have a new appreciation for your craft. sparing you guys the full hour it took to get to this color, but here’s a clip of my attempt!"
Palau also shared the video on his account.

Palau's virtual instructions are probably a better approach than Gerber's experiment last April, when she went rogue and attempted a DIY dye job with straight-up hydrogen peroxide.
"I literally put the straight peroxide on my hair and then dried it with a blowdryer — just to hit it with heat — and it lightened my color a shade or two, just a subtle change," Gerber told Refinery29.
