How Kanye West's Wife Bianca Censori's Wild Street Looks Come to Be
Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori—although they are not legally married—have become known for their strange fashion looks as they spend time in Italy.
But it turns out that they are not the only people creating the memorable looks, as West reportedly has a team, or an "atelier," of designers working on the looks daily.
Nigerian-born, London-based fashion designer Mowalola Ogunlesi, who started working with West in 2020 for his Yeezy Gap collaboration, told Page Six about how the outfits are created, saying, "Anything he wants to make they can make it. He’s really just making it on the spot."
“They design it and have an in-house team that creates everything in a day," said another designer with direct experience working with West, who decided to remain anonymous.
Referencing the many outfits created for Censori out of simple tights, Ogunlesi went on to say that there is no "structural" design process, explaining, "They just buy tights and style it and cut it on [Censori] … Usually they get Wolford. Tights are not safe when they’re around.”
Ogunlesi also claimed that Laura Beham of the Zurich-based design collective Proto-types is the main designer behind the looks, though West and Censori guide the designs. The Prototypes RTW Spring 2024 collection created by Beham and Callum Pidgeon even featured upcycled outfits created from the Yeezy line.
Page Six also reported that, when Beham was notified that she was identified as West and Censori's designer, she responded with a text of a heart.
Throughout their travels in Italy and elsewhere, West and Bianca have shocked and stunned with their outfits. The former tends to wear simple outfits with no shoes, while Censori often dons form-fitting ensembles featuring tights, heels, and bra tops with very little coverage.
