The Kardashians Are Bringing the '90s Back
Start saving your money now, because the Kardashians are on the verge of bringing back a very big, very expensive trend from the late '90s. I'm talking, of course, about the black nylon Prada bag.
On July 10, Kim Kardashian was spotted out in New York City carrying a black nylon Prada satchel.
Not exactly the most iconic of the black nylon Prada bags, but it's cute. Besides, in the '90s you could have put that silver and black enamel Prada emblem on a Hefty trash bag and people would have called it chic.
Then, this morning, Kourtney Kardashian was photographed in LA carrying the mother of all black nylon Prada bags - the mini backpack. Seriously, it doesn't get much more '90s than that.
In the '90s, girls would wear these bags to school, despite the fact they weren't big enough to carry a textbook. That's not what these bags were for, anyway. What they carried was status, which, in high school, was more important anyway.
Conventional wisdom dictates that it takes three to make a trend, so these bags aren't officially back yet. Once Kendall or Kylie starts carrying them around, then you'll know they're back for sure. In the meantime, start saving up your pocket money, because these bags may look simple, basic even, but they do not come cheap. No, they do not.
