Karl Lagerfeld's Photographs Are on Display at this Exhibition
Now in its tenth year, the program honored emerging and established artists.
On February 26, one of the South's premier arts institutions, the SCAD Museum of Art (at Savannah College of Art & Design), recently celebrated its 10th annual deFINE ART program. With a roster of special commissions, exhibitions, lectures and performances, deFINE ART recognizes emerging and established artists and visionaries. This year, the program mounted 14 exhibitions-including photographs by the late Karl Lagerfeld-and honored renowned conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner. deFINE ART 2019 also has an international exhibiting artist roster from countries including South Korea, Mexico, South Africa, Germany, Denmark and the United States. Guests at the opening ceremony included SCAD president and founder Paula Wallace as well as exhibiting artists Azikiwe Mohammad, Alex Carpenter, Pedro Reyes, Carla Fernández, Nicholas Hlobo, Monica Cook, Lee Bul, and Gonzalo Lebrija.
