Kate Makes Her First Post-Baby Appearance
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a surprise cameo at Windsor Castle today as they checked out their wedding venue two days ahead of the big ceremony. To fans' surprise, they had special guests in tow: the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Kate Middleton's presence was unexpected, as she just gave birth to her and Prince William's third child, Prince Louis, less than four weeks ago. This marks her first public appearance post-baby, after staying out of the spotlight since she brought Louis home to Kensington Palace.
The new mother of three, like her husband and in-laws, was only spotting in the car as she arrived to Windsor Castle. However, she still made a stunning appearance from the chest up, wearing a pair of oversized sunglasses and what looks like a floral dress from MICHAEL Michael Kors. (Naturally, the frock is already sold out Net-a-Porter.)
The last time we saw Middleton before this was on April 23, hours after Prince Louis was born, as she and William debuted their newest addition on the hospital steps. The Duchess wore a bright red Peter Pan collar dress at the time, perhaps as a tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
Kate has kept it classy through all of her post-baby appearances, ever since she exited the Lindo Wing with newborn baby Prince George in that light blue polka-dot Jenny Packham dress. But after a brief post-hospital hiatus, she always steps back into the spotlight with as chic a wardrobe as ever.
After giving birth to Princess Charlotte in May 2013, Middleton made her first public appearance a month later at the Trooping of the Colour. For the formal event, she wore a light blue Catherine Walker coatdress and white fascinator as she joined the royal family at the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
In 2013, following the birth of Prince George in July, Middleton made her first-post baby appearance through a family portrait released in August. In the photo, she and Prince William pose with their firstborn at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury.
The Duchess’ first public engagement after welcoming Prince George came later that month, when she attended the Ring O'Fire Ultra Marathon in Anglesey, Wales. She wore black skinny jeans, a blazer, and espadrilles for the semi-casual outing.
After today's car-borne appearance, Middleton's first official post-baby appearance will be at the royal wedding on Saturday.
