Kate Middleton Breaks Silence Following Surgery in New Photo With Her Children
Kate Middleton
While many continue to share concerns about Kate Middleton and her health as she stays out of the public eye following her surgery in January, the princess shared her first message for everyone while marking the U.K.'s Mother's Day on Sunday, March 10.
Kate posted a beautiful photo of herself smiling brightly while sitting outside in a chair, with her left arm around Princess Charlotte and her right around Prince Louis. Meanwhile, Prince George stands behind her with his arms around her neck. The photo was taken by Kate's husband, Prince William.
Alongside the photo, Kate wrote, "Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C," with "C" referencing her full name, Catherine. The new snap is the first official photo of Kate shared in months, as the princess took a break from her royal duties while recovering from her planned surgery.
Fans loved seeing the new photo of the joyful family, with comments like, "Ohhhh what a magical photo," and "OMG ??. You always have the best surprise for us ??. We missed you so much so it's so great to see ??????."
"Happy Mother’s day. You are an epitome of grace and resilience & so very loved! ?," wrote a third.
Ahead of Mother's Day, Kate was spotted for the first time since the surgery sitting in a car with her mother, Carole Middleton, while driving near Windsor Castle. Meanwhile, Kate's uncle Gary Goldsmith, who was on Celebrity Big Brother, was asked about her, but he cited a "code of etiquette" and didn't share much, simply ensuring that she would "of course" be back.
Kensington Palace originally announced in mid-January that Kate underwent "planned abdominal surgery" and would recover in the hospital for around two weeks before going home. The message also noted she wouldn't return to her royal duties until at least Easter. Since then, there have been no updates except to assure the public that Kate's recovery is going well.
