Kate Middleton and Her Children Made Prince William the Sweetest Homemade Gift for His Birthday

From Town & Country

Prince William is celebrating his 37th birthday privately today, but The Sun was able to get details on the thoughtful gift that his wife Kate Middleton and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis gave him. A palace insider told the outlet that William got a scrapbook full of family photos and homemade pictures that Kate and the kids created over the last year.

“Kate and the children have been compiling a large album of the children’s paintings, drawings and collages and prints," a source told the outlet. “They reflect what they have been doing over the past year. You can look at any event they were involved with as a family, and there will probably be a picture, drawing, print or photo."

The Sun notes Kate was said to have kept the present at her sister Pippa Middleton’s house so it would be a surprise for William today. The theme of the album was reportedly, "Den They Were Three," a pithy way of marking Prince Louis’s first year in the family.

“It’s taken a great deal of time and effort to make, and as a present, it means something," The Sun's source said. "You could say it’s a reminder to William about what is really important. It’s been put together with a great deal of care."

The gift was constructed piece-by-piece over the last 12 months. Kate put it together "as the pictures came along from the children," the source said. “She’s been very much guiding it. It is not something that she’s put together retrospectively. It was compiled gradually.”
