Kate Middleton and Her Kids Went Out Shopping for Halloween Costumes, Shocked Locals
Kate Middleton went out in the wild yesterday with her two oldest children Prince George and Princess Charlotte and shocked the British public. The three made a low-key appearance at a Sainsbury's store in Hardwick, Cambridgeshire. (Sainbury's sells groceries, clothing, and housing goods.) The Mirror reports customers there were surprised to see the Duchess of Cambridge at self-check out after looking at Halloween costumes in the store with her "brawny, six-foot" bodyguard close by.
Kathy Whittaker told The Mirror about the experience and also gave the outlet a photo she took of Kate at check-out. Another customer alerted Whittaker to the Kate's presence.
Whittaker explained that the Duchess "was with Charlotte and George, looking at Halloween outfits, but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures. I managed to get the photo as she was at the self service check out."
"I didn't see what she actually bought," Whittaker continued. "The lady that told me she was there had children with her, and she said Kate was asking her children what they were going to be for Halloween. I think she bought some Halloween bits for her kids, but I don't know what."
The family was dressed casually but chicly, Whittaker added: "Kate was wearing black trousers and a black polo neck. Charlotte was wearing a little checkered skirt but I couldn't see anything else. She was saying, 'Come on kids,' she just understandably wanted to keep them safe. You just don't expect it to happen, you think Kate would shop in Waitrose [another grocery store she had been seen shopping at before] or Harrods [a high-end British department store]. She just seemed so down to earth and beautiful as always."
