Kate Kept It Casual in a Khaki Jacket and Leather Boots
The Duchess of Cambridge made an impromptu visit to Northern Ireland this morning, visiting a farm and its surrounding community to promote her "5 Big Questions on the Under 5s" survey.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, made a surprise trip to a farm in Northern Ireland Wednesday morning.
Meeting with locals to expand the reach of her early childhood development survey, "5 Big Questions on the Under 5s," the duchess aims to hear the community's thoughts "on the most important factors that ensure children become happy adults," as well as encourage "the role of parents and society in ensuring children have the best possible start in life," according to an official press release.
Kate dressed practically for the occasion, donning a gray knit turtleneck, black skinny jeans, a khaki Barbour jacket, and knee-high Penelope Chilver boots.
She was given an official tour of the Ark Open Farm in Newtownards, Ireland, before she met with parents, grandparents, and caretakers to learn about their experiences raising young children; the duchess was even able to have a few charming encounters with some of the farm's animals—the folks there specialize in caring for rare breeds—and paused to take photos with a snake and an alpaca.
Kate has focused her line of work on the social challenges that surround childhood development for the last eight years and continues to do so with her U.K.–wide national survey. With the results of her survey, she plans to showcase how "everyone has a role in ensuring strong, healthy foundations for the youngest in our society that will positively affect their lifelong outcomes."
