Kate Middleton Paired an Orange Sweater Set With a Camel Coat at First Solo Event Since Harry’s Memoir Release
The royal family continued keeping things business as usual today following Prince Harry’s Spare release, with Kate Middleton appearing at her first solo event of the new year. The Princess of Wales visited Foxcubs Nursery in Luton, where she spent time talking to parents and even playing with some kids, too. Kate is set to announce a major early childhood campaign in the U.K. later this month, per royal reporters.
Sartorially, Kate embraced warm tones, pairing a burnt orange top and skirt by Gabriela Hearst with a camel coat by Massimo Dutti, per Hello!. She wore her brown hair down in waves with a center part.
While no one in the royal family has spoken out directly about their feelings regarding Harry’s headline-dominating memoir, multiple sources connected to them have made their dismay known. On January 12, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Kate is “hurt and disappointed” over what Harry wrote about her in the book. Harry portrayed Kate as being cold to his wife Meghan Markle, never really getting along with her, and even telling Meghan off at one point.
A second source who knows Harry, Kate, Meghan, and Prince William told the outlet that “the relationship [between the two couples] has completely broken down.”
A source had stronger words for Us Weekly about Kate’s feelings, telling the outlet in a report it published on January 8 that “Kate feels that Harry’s actions are atrocious.” The insider added, “She is appalled at him for dragging her name through the dirt and is finding it hard to forgive.”
