Kate Middleton and Prince Harry team up — minus Meghan and William — for joint royal outing amid reports of a rift
What a difference a year makes. In 2018, Prince Harry and then-bride-to-be Meghan Markle spent Anzac Day — which honors Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women, as well as the contributions of those countries during World War I — in the company of Prince William, long before rumors of a royal rift would surface. (Kate Middleton missed out, having given birth to Prince Louis just days before.)

A year later, and both Meghan and William are MIA — but with good reason. The duchess is resting at home in Windsor ahead of the birth of her first child, while her brother-in-law traveled to New Zealand to mark Anzac Day as well as honor victims of last month’s terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch.
That left Kate and dad-to-be Prince Harry to represent the royal family at a church service at London’s Westminster Abbey. Despite reports that Harry and William have fallen out in recent months and the two duchesses have a rocky relationship, the in-laws were all smiles as they joined the Duke of Gloucester for the Thursday service.
The duchess wore a peacock blue coat from Catherine Walker for the occasion, pairing it with a matching fascinator from Rosie Olivia and Emmy’s green Natasha clutch and Rebecca pumps.
The joint appearance comes just days after Harry and William reportedly appeared strained during an Easter service, fueling unsubstantiated claims that the younger brother and Meghan will move to Africa with their child.
