How Kate Middleton and Prince William Convinced Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy to Finally Break Up
It's hard to imagine Prince Harry with anyone other than Meghan Markle, especially following their fairytale wedding on May 19.
But Prince Harry was previously in a longterm relationship with Chelsy Davy, who just so happened to be a guest at the royal wedding. And now, according to a new biography, it was Kate Middleton and Prince William's relationship which apparently made Davy and the prince realize that they weren't destined to be together.
In the new book, Harry: Conversations with the Prince, by Angela Levin, it's revealed that although Prince Harry invited Davy to his brother's wedding, which took place on April 29, 2011, the event was ultimately what ended their on-off-relationship.
According to the Express, Levin writes in the new biography:
"A friend revealed that seeing the enormity and pomp of the day convinced Chelsy that she and Harry had been right to separate. Although they had a lot in common, she saw clearly that because they came from such different worlds it could never have worked, especially as she valued her privacy and guarded it so carefully."
Fans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will likely feel as though Davy made the right decision, particularly as both Meghan and Harry have often found themselves in the global spotlight since becoming a couple.
Earlier this month, Vanity Fair reported that Prince Harry was worried about the media spectacle surrounding his new wife. As a result, and in an attempt to avoid paparazzi, Meghan and Harry have apparently been renting a farmhouse cottage in the Cotswolds.
