The royal family's pre-Christmas festivities have begun. All the senior royals are arriving at Buckingham Palace now for the Queen's Christmas lunch. Kate Middleton and Prince William drove separately, Kate taking her younger kids Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in her car. William and the couple's oldest son, Prince George, drove in William's car.

Kate dressed chicly in a red plaid top with a white collared top underneath. Louis appears to be in a Christmas sweater while Charlotte is in burgundy. The Queen's Christmas lunch is a private event, so photographers aren't allowed inside. The photos of the royal family members arriving in their cars are the only shots the public will get of them and what they're wearing.

Following the pre-Christmas luncheon, the royal family will head to Sandringham, where they will celebrate Christmas. They will all be out at church in Norfolk on Christmas morning. Charlotte and George are expected to make their debut there this year.

“It will be so sweet. George and Charlotte will make their Christmas debut, as long as they’re both on good form on the day," a royal source told The Sun. “It’s the picture all royal fans want to see. The royals walking to church on Christmas Day is a rite of passage and so William and Kate didn’t want to expose their children too early, but they feel they’re old enough now." (George is six, and Charlotte is four.)

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and their son Archie are not at today's Christmas luncheon because they are abroad, on their extended break from royal duty. They will not join the royal family at Sandringham at Christmas either this year and are expected to spend the holiday with Meghan's mom Doria Ragland.
