Kate Middleton Reveals Cancer Diagnosis Following Ongoing Conspiracy Theories

Kate Middleton has finally broken her silence in response to the incessant conspiracy theories swirling around her health and well-being.

On Friday, March 22, the royal family issued a video of the Princess of Wales directly addressing the condition that necessitated a reportedly planned abdominal surgery in January, leading to a 13-day hospital stay followed by a nearly 3-month recovery period, where she announced she'd been diagnosed with cancer.

The royal explained that they expected that her "condition was noncancerous," but after a "successful" surgery, further testing showed that whatever they removed had, in fact, been malignant.

“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she continued. “This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”

New like this has naturally "taken time" to recover from the procedure and explain the situation to their three young children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte in an "appropriate" way, as well to "reassure them" that their mom will be all right.

Middleton assured viewers that she is "well and getting stronger every day," and emphasized the family's need for "time, space, and privacy" to complete her treatment, which is her sole focus at this time.

She also thanked those who have sent "wonderful messages of support," as well as her "fantastic medical team" and supportive husband.

With such an unprecedented recovery period, which involved the palace remaining mum about her condition beyond consistently repetitive reports that she was recovering well at home, even as the world began to express concerns that she'd gone "missing" and demanded proof of life, fans continued to spiral over her media blackout, creating fantastical conspiracy theories to account for her absence.

Dr. George Crawford sat down with TMZ for a recent documentary exploring Middleton's disappearance, speculating that she may have had a planned procedure, as the palace reported, that led to complications, or the discovery of another problem, like how her father-in-law, King Charles, was diagnosed with cancer after receiving treatment for a benign enlarged prostate.

She was reportedly sighted a handful of times over the last few weeks, but plenty were left convinced that the release of the images and videos were just a part of an attempted cover-up on the part of the palace, since nothing published was particularly high-quality and couldn't be definitively verified as being the princess.

Several photos also came under scrutiny after a Mother's Day image purporting to have been taken in March was determined to be manipulated in several places. While a statement credited to the princess apologizing for "any confusion" caused by her "experiment with editing" was issued, not everyone bought that it was really her—especially given her history of studying photography in college and emphasizing the impact of a candid moment.

On the other hand, plenty of celebrities came to her defense, including Jamie Lee Curtis and Whoopi Goldberg, who each sent strong messages denouncing the ongoing conspiracy theories.

Like her father-in-law, Middleton did not reveal what type of cancer she was diagnosed with, but we're sending her all of our well-wishes for a speedy recovery.

It seems unlikely that she'll return to any public royal duties anytime soon—which were originally projected to resume after the Easter holidays—but she's finding ways to keep busy by monitoring other projects from home.
