Kate Middleton Shines in a Striped Top at the King's Cup Regatta
Kate Middleton and Prince William are helping to launch the inaugural King's Cup regatta, which will raise awareness for their patronages.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a striped, frilly Sandro top, L.K.Bennett pants, and Superga sneakers.
This marks the royals' first appearance after taking some time off for vacation this summer.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are back at work after vacationing in the Caribbean. Resuming their royal duties, Kate Middleton and Prince William are launching the first-ever King's Cup regatta on the Isle of Wight today.
The Cambridges aren't just attending to shake hands with patrons and watch the race from afar; they'll be sailing themselves and competing against each other. They'll "go head to head as skippers of individual sailing boats, in an eight boat regatta race," Kensington Palace previously announced.
Duchess Kate dressed aptly for the sporting event, wearing a striped Sandro top with frilled details on the sleeves and hem. Her navy L.K.Bennett trousers, featuring white buttons at the waist, added a nautical touch. For footwear, she wore practical, white Superga sneakers. It's possible the duchess may change her outfit for the race itself, but we're loving her look as-is.
Though most may know her in her skirt suits and prim dresses, the Duchess of Cambridge is no stranger to casual athletic looks. She knows how to rock a set of nautical stripes.
The regatta will benefit patronages supported by Prince William and Duchess Kate. Joining the royal couple at the sailing race are other big names like English soccer player Fara Williams, TV personality Bear Grylls, and comedian John Bishop. Each celebrity guest will be representing a different charity that William and Kate support.
This marks the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first public appearance in weeks, as they've been out of the spotlight reportedly vacationing on the Caribbean island of Mustique, their go-to destination, with their children. Their oldest child, Prince George, apparently spent his sixth birthday on the trip.
