Kate Middleton Wants to Buy *This* Special Superhero Costume for Prince William
Kate Middleton wants Prince William to part-time as a superhero. At least, that’s what she suggested during her latest YouTube video.
Over the last few months, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared a series of clips on their official channel, featuring Middleton conducting phone calls with finalists of the National Portrait Gallery's Hold Still photography exhibition. During the conversations, which took place last autumn, the duchess spoke to a number of the 100 finalists who shared their experiences about the U.K.'s first COVID-19 lockdown by submitting an image to the project.
The latest installment, called Stockport Spider-Man Bringing Smiles to Children in Lockdown, was released on Tuesday and included footage of the duchess’s phone call with Jason Baird, who, alongside his friend Andrew Baldock, took to the streets dressed as Spider-Man to entertain children who were stuck inside due to the lockdown. One of the photos shows Baird doing a backflip as children look on from inside a house.
“Thank you for sending in your photograph because there are some really emotive and really sad images and stories that we had," Middleton said in the clip. “But this brought, you know, particularly to the judging panel, it was such a wonderful, positive image of community spirit. It was amazingly captured.”
When asked about his inspiration behind dressing up as the Marvel character, he revealed: “When we heard the news that you were only allowed out for an hour a day it was more a case of we wanted to try and cheer the kids up—just bringing the joy and the happiness was the main thing.”
Of course, the duchess loved the idea and even suggested getting her husband join in on the fun.
“I'll see if it takes on the trend to Kensington Palace. I might have to buy William a suit," she continued. “Unfortunately, I'm not so sure he's going to get the air clearance that you've got!”
We’re sure George, Charlotte and Louis would love this idea.
