Kate Middleton Wears Alexander McQueen for First Royal Outing of 2020
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a mossy green Alexander McQueen coat and a Zara dress while visiting the city of Bradford alongside Prince William today.
The visit to Bradford marks the Cambridges first royal outing of 2020 and their first since the news of the Sussexes' decision to step down from the royal family.
The Cambridges have made their first official royal outing of 2020.
Both Prince William and Duchess Kate traveled to the city of Bradford today to “visit a number of projects which support the community and promote cohesion within it," according to an official press release. Bradford is known to be one of the U.K.’s most diverse cities.
Kate wore a Zara dress for the occasion and a green, maxi length coat by Alexander McQueen. She had her hair in her signature flowing, voluminous waves and wore earrings by the brand Zeen, which she had also worn during the couple’s previous tour of Pakistan last fall.
William and Kate are scheduled to visit City Hall to join a group of young people to hear about life in Bradford. From there, the couple will meet with local employers and businesses who are helping assure the city’s youth have access to employment.
The Cambridges' Bradford visit marks the first time Kate and William have been out on a royal outing together since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they're stepping down as senior members of the royal family.
William has yet to make his own personal statement regarding the matter, but the queen had officially announced her approval of the Sussexes’ decision earlier this week. The queen described handling the Sussexes’ stepping down as a “complex matter” and further details on the logistics of their stepping back from royal duties are supposed to be coming out in the coming days.
“My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan's desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family,” said the queen.
