A Texas-Sized Night for the Dallas Contemporary

Fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti has spent his career putting other people in focus, but on the evening of April 5 he was one of the main attractions when Dallas Contemporary held its inaugural spring gala, celebrating the opening of Kate, Sorrenti’s collection of photos of Kate Moss, as well as an exhibition of the work of Yelena Yemchuk and a show commemorating the 25th anniversary of Self-Service magazine.

The evening was chaired by Kristen Cole and Kaleta Blaffer Johnson and hosted by Forty Five Ten and Headington Companies, and drew guests including Erykah Badu, Francesco Clemente, and Dennis Freedman. Revelers were treated to a video message from Moss herself before dinner, a live auction, and a musical performance by Texas’s own Ben Kweller; night owls stuck around for an after-party hosted by Erin Wasson.

Kate Moss, Erykah Badu, Francesco Clemente, and more joined in the celebration.
