Katharine McPhee Leaves David Foster's Tour Early Due to 'Horrible' Family Tragedy
Katharine McPhee announced there's been a horrible family tragedy, so she'll have to cancel her appearance on the final two performances of her husband David Foster's "Hitman Asia Tour" in Jakarta, Indonesia.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the Smash alum wrote, "It's with heavy heart I announce I have to miss the final 2 shows of our Asia run. David and I have a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back home to our family."
She continued, "Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all."
The 39-year-old did not offer more details on the family emergency, and Foster has yet to release a statement of his own. However, according to TMZ, the couple's nanny is the loved one that they recently lost.
Through McPhee's statement, it is implied that Foster will still perform the concerts, which also feature Peabo Bryson, Michael Bolton, Loren Allred, and Indonesian singer, Raisa. The series of shows are described on the site as Foster inviting "music lovers in Indonesia to enjoy an intimate evening and sing along with his most famous songs."
Many sent their love and prayers to the multi-hyphenate and her Grammy-winning spouse in the comments.
"Sending my love and prayers for your family ??????," shared Nicole Scherzinger. Linda Thompson wrote, "Sending you and David love, & hoping that everything is OK??????." "Sending love Kat and David…," shared Never Have I Ever actor Adam Shapiro.
McPhee and Foster married in 2019 and share two-year-old son Rennie.
