On April 18, 2006, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise welcomed a daughter, Suri, into the world. This means that today, that baby, whose birth was news in tabloids in supermarkets everywhere, turns 14. World, meet Suri Cruise, full-fledged teen. Her mom, Katie Holmes, shared a birthday post to celebrate her teen, who, like the rest of us quarantined Aries, is likely sticking at home today.

"??Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!!!!!! ?? I am so blessed to be your mom. May this year be incredible! ????????," she wrote.

Holmes has made it a priority to keep her daughter's life out of the spotlight, even while her own life, and 2019 breakup with Jamie Foxx, makes it into headlines. She rarely discusses their private life in New York City together, but as Suri has gotten older, Holmes has opened up a bit more about her daughter. In InStyle's April cover story, Holmes shared with editor-in-chief Laura Brown that she is proud of the person who daughter is becoming.

"I've met Suri only once so far, but I was struck by how open she was," Brown said to Holmes in the interview.

"I love her so much," Holmes responded. "My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it. She came out very strong—she's always been a strong personality. She'll pick an activity and work her butt off until she's really good at it. Then she's like, 'Okay, I'm going to try the next thing.' She's very focused and a hard worker. I have to say, I did recently see some fan site [about her] posted when she was a baby, and it was very intense. We were followed a lot when she was little. I just wanted her outside, so I would walk her around to find parks at, like, 6 in the morning when nobody would see us. But there's one video where I'm holding her—she was two at the time—and she starts waving at the cameras. She's pretty special."
