Katy Perry Brings Back Micro Bangs for Music Announcement

We won't be "Hot N Cold" about Katy Perry's new hairstyle, as we're obsessed with it.

On June 20, the American Idol judge took to Instagram to celebrate a few career milestones: Her second album, One of the Boys, turning 15, her third album, Teenage Dream, turning 13, and her fourth album, Prism, turning 10.

However, in the video update, in which she announced a special box set commemorating these anniversaries, Perry debuted a fun, new look.

Specifically, while donning her signature dark locks, Perry switched things up by wearing striking micro-bangs. Of course, it didn't take long for Perry's celebrity friends and fans to applaud the 'do in the comments of the upload.

Comedian Chelsea Handler wrote, "Nice haircut!"

Fellow singer Jessie Ware added, "LOVE THIS HAIRRRR."

Even famed hairstylist Jen Atkin chimed in, "CUT THESE BANGS IMMEDIATELY I LOVE THEM SO MUCH."

One fan even noticed that her hair paid homage to her past alter-ego, noting, "She brought back the One Of The Boys era hair."

Hair news aside, Perry shed a little light on why she felt like celebrating these music anniversaries—something she doesn't typically do.

"Those are like, monumental numbers," she shared with her followers. "So we figured we do something really special with it and we put them all in a box set, which is super cute. You're gonna love it."

As she continued, Perry confirmed that the box set would include "never-before-seen photos." She also promised that "cool nostalgic merch from the past" would make a comeback in honor of the major milestones.

Several fans applauded the update, with on superfan commenting, "Katycats are crying now, you’re incredible."

However, many others begged for a music update. Case in point: One follower asked, "and now where is KP6????"

Only time will tell.
