Katy Perry just combined all of today's top trends into one perfect leather suit that also teaches us a lesson in sexy business dressing.

On Thursday, the singer arrived at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles for her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in a chic version of the power suit. Katy wore an all-leather black set with a cropped, tuxedo-lapel wrap top with a plunging neckline, which she paired with matching high-waisted, criss-cross trousers, revealing an ab-baring cutout in the midsection. The pleated bottoms cut off right at Katy's feet to expose her matching platform pumps.

The pop star accessorized with massive quirky silver-coil hoop earrings. Her raven tresses were styled into a '90s-esque updo with crimped, face-framing strands, and she completed the ensemble with winged eyeliner and a subtle rose-colored lip.

Perry was joined by her American Idol co-judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, to promote the upcoming 20th season of the singing competition reality show, which premieres this Sunday on ABC.

During the interview, Katy opened up about her new Las Vegas residency at the Resorts World and her family ties to the city.

"I always thought a residency would be in the cards for me, and I wanted it. And then when I decided I was going to do it, I started to remember all this family folklore," she told Kimmel. "Like my aunt was a topless showgirl, my grandma was a seamstress for the showgirls, my dad was a chauffeur, my parents met in Vegas and then got married in Vegas. And so it's like, 'that's so strange!' And then what's even stranger, is that I realize the hotel that my aunt worked at was the Star Dust Hotel which is now the Resorts World Hotel."

"It's cool!" she added
