Keeping up with the Kardashians in 2017
What… you thought this would be the year the Kardashians wouldn’t dominate the headlines? Better luck in 2020.
With the Kardashian-Jenner baby boom, new faces on the dating scene, and some makeup industry dominance, reality TV’s first family had quite the busy year. Take a look at what Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Rob, Kendall, and Kylie were all up to in 2017.
Kim Kardashian
As the reality star was still recovering from the trauma of her Paris robbery, tough times at the end of 2016 trickled into the new year. Kim and Kanye West went through somewhat of a rough patch as the “Famous” rapper’s breakdown and hospitalization reportedly put a strain on their marriage. “It doesn’t seem like they have plans to split now. Things don’t seem great, but it also seems they are working to change that,” a source claimed to People earlier this year. Cut to their third anniversary in May and it appears Kimye successfully changed that. As the couple got back on track so, too, did their plans to have a third child. They decided to have baby no. 3 via a surrogate, and they will welcome another little girl early next year. Luckily, the pair won’t be pinched for finances for their growing family. Kim launched a makeup line, which has already made millions.
Kylie Jenner
It was out with the old, in with the new in the romance department for the makeup mogul. In spring, Jenner split with on-off boyfriend, Tyga, and quickly moved on to another rapper, Travis Scott. A few months into their relationship they got some surprising news: They will both be parents for the first time early next year. In September, it was revealed that the 20-year-old is expecting her first child with Scott, 25. The reality star is reportedly thrilled with the news, although she has yet to confirm that she’s pregnant. (Yahoo confirmed she’s expecting a little girl.) Professionally, things aren’t too shabby for Jenner, who got her own spinoff The Life of Kylie, either. It was reported in August that Kylie Cosmetics made $420 million in retail sales since its official launch 18 months prior and is projected to make $386 million in 2017.

Khloé Kardashian
What’s better than two Kardashian babies on the way? Three! Around the same time it was revealed that Kylie had a bun in the oven, news broke that Khloé was also expecting. It’s the first child for the reality star and second for boyfriend Tristan Thompson. Khloé confirmed the happy news this month, saying it’s her “greatest dream realized.” In a lengthy Instagram post, she praised the Cleveland Cavaliers star: “Tristan, thank you for loving me the way that you do! Thank you for treating me like a Queen! Thank you for making me feel beautiful at all stages! Tristan, most of all, Thank you for making me a MOMMY!!! You have made this experience even more magical than I could have envisioned! I will never forget how wonderful you’ve been to me during this time! Thank you for making me so happy my love!”
Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
Kourtney got back in the dating game this year following her split from Scott Disick, with whom she shares three children. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is enjoying a May-December romance with model Younes Bendjima, who is 14 years her junior. The reality star first met Bendjima in Paris in 2016 and started casually seeing each other, but things appear to have gotten more serious. That irked Disick, 34, who went on a wild bender at the Cannes Film Festival with a slew of girls. A few months later he settled down (for now) with one of those girls — Sofia Richie who is 15-years his junior.
Kendall Jenner
The model started of her year with a misstep and that’s putting it mildly. Kendall sparked outrage and backlash for starring in a “tone deaf” Pepsi commercial that was accused of trivializing the Black Lives Matter movement. Pepsi ended up pulling the mocked ad and apologized saying they “missed the mark.” Kendall kept a relatively low profile following her first real scandal and was said to be devastated over the incident. Professionally, she ended the year on top… literally. Kendall is the world’s highest-earning model, taking home $22 million and knocking Gisele off the top spot for the first time since 2002. As for her love life, Kendall ends the year with a new flame: Clippers star, Blake Griffin.
Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna
We’ve saved the most dramatic for last as 2017 was a year filled with ups, mostly downs, revenge porn, and lawsuits for the troubled pair. Despite starting the year off together and engaged following the birth of their daughter, Dream, all went to hell over the summer when Rob lost it on social media, going on an explosive rant against his ex-fiancée. He posted nude photos of Chyna, alleged drug and alcohol use, and claimed she had their daughter out of spite to get back at Kylie and Tyga. Meanwhile, Chyna alleged that Rob beat her and threatened he was suicidal. The pair went to court and Chyna received a temporary domestic violence restraining order. They eventually settled their bitter custody dispute, agreeing to joint physical custody. However, Chyna is still suing Kris Jenner, Rob, Kylie, and Kim Kardashian claiming they torpedoed her career by ending Rob & Chyna.
Given the fact there are at least three new Kardashian kids on the way, 2018 will bring a lot to keep up with, too.
