The Pride & Prejudice star's pregnancy announcement coincided with that of fellow actress Blake Lively, who also revealed her baby bump last night while attending a premiere with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. This marks the couple's third child together.

Knightley has been open about her experiences in pregnancy and motherhood. In October, she published an essay about the realities of childbirth and called out royal mom Kate Middleton for emerging from the hospital wearing makeup and heels just hours after giving birth, creating an unrealistic expectation for mothers.

"Look beautiful. Look stylish, don't show your battleground, Kate," Knightley wrote. "Seven hours after your fight with life and death, seven hours after your body breaks open, and bloody, screaming life comes out. Don't show. Don't tell. Stand there with your girl and be shot by a pack of male photographers."
